This procedure establishes criteria for preliminary qualification of contractors who intend to apply for certification to an industrial or architectural/commercial coating contractor certification program but have less than 12 months experience (or no experience) in field application of industrial or architectural/commercial protective coatings. This procedure does not address preliminary qualification of contractors whose coating operations are conducted exclusively at a contractor’s fixed facility (i.e., shop painting).
